The South West Shetland Pony Group was established in 1991 to bring together Shetland pony breeders and enthusiasts.

The main aim of the group and it's committee is to organise events such as talks, demonstrations and teach-in days. The group also holds social events like our skittles evenings and our very successful Christmas lunch. We also aim to have fun with our Shetlands and encourage junior members at our annual fun day with events that include Gymkhana, Agility, Clear round jumping, Long reining and fancy dress. The group also organises an annual show with numerous classes including ridden classes.

The main aspect of the group is to learn about, have fun with and enjoy the Shetland pony.

The group members are friendly and are always happy to give advice on any queries you may have.
